I remember hearing that I have natural leadership as I was growing up. When ever and where ever I went I always had a crowd of friend that were with me for some reason. I always had to be the first one or the one always planning something for the group or organizing trips/events. So when I took this test and found out that I was ID or Influencer and a Dominator, I wasn't exactly surprised. But at the same time I think I'm not as aggressive when it comes to being a leader or just in general.
Often I find myself enjoy being in a leadership role but I do wish at times that I had little more C in me. Just little more meticulous and careful... or even little more detailed at times. I tend to be impatient and when I have things to do I like to get things done now, like right now!
I think its great to have these test once in a while to get a deeper understanding about yourself and also for you to understand your weaknesses. Yes, I do believe that you can improve certain degree. For example even though most times I am impatient or not as detail oriented, I think these things can be improve upon self control and disciplinary process. Not to an extreme degree but I certainly believe that you can even improve on your creativity as well. You might not be able to excel as much as someone who are natural but certainly can improve.
It was very clear that the assessment of this test was pretty accurate seeing how certain people ended up in certain categories. Interestingly enough, most people that I expected in the class had the similar
categories. For example John and Sarah both fall into ID as well... I think as long as individuals were some what honest with themselves on their own assessment should of been pretty accurate. In the end, another interest day in class. Hope you guys enjoy your break and see you all in class!
I think that the test was pretty accurate as well. It was pretty crazy how accurate it was actually. I also wish that I had a little more characteristics of the "c" category. I am not the type of person who is careful at all. lol I just do things. I wish I had more leadership values as well. I tend to be the type of person who can give ideas and such but I'd rather follow steps from a person with more intelligence then me.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying I wasn't honest?? =)
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all surprised you are and I.d. You have an air of confidence that isn't hostile. I think that's what really make a true D. I run into some very... lets call them 'bold' personalities in my field. They are difficult to manage and even more difficult to motivate. That to me is the biggest difference between a D and an I. An I will inspire you, and make you want to engage in teamwork.
You are an born leader... embrace it!
I agree with you! if people were honest answering all those questions, this test can be very accurate in determining the management "type" for each individuals. I think you are definitely "ID" :) You do have "an air of confidence" which attracts many people to stay around you!
ReplyDeleteI agree that these tests help to better understand ourselves. Our findings help to explain some of the reasons we do certain things, but also, it helps us to discover how to change the way we live our lives(if a change is desired.) The hardest part is understanding what the ideal category is, if there is such a thing.
ReplyDeleteCome on.. tell the truth you just copied my answers!!!
ReplyDeleteI do agree that you do have a strong leadership quality but are not aggressive about it. (thats what makes us Id's so special and a pleasure to work for :)
It is funny to read how we both also mentioned how we want to improve our Cs (i cant believe you also copied my blog) as it is really important to have those skills while managing people as well.
Thanks for giving me a shout out in your blog. Not so pleased about being in the same sentence as Sarah though!!!
I tested Di so I can relate. I'm always one to initiate things and never hesitate to be in the spotlight. Within my group of friends I'm always guiding them on what we should do where we should eat. Like you I wish I had a little C in me sometimes I make other people uncomfortable when I try to push my ideas on them as well as I have a short fuse when people take their time and are slow about getting things done. To be truly well rounded we need to have a combination of traits.
ReplyDeleteI think Id suits you well. I remember from our Egg assignment that you were leading the team in a very non-aggressive way. I'm a Cs, so if you want to spike up your C mentality, just let me know...I will show you the light!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that your test was so accurate, however, I must share that I don't think mine was. While I agree with the D I recieved I was also a C and these characteristics are not really ones that I possess. I am not systematic in any way. I am far from organized, I always look at the bigger picture rather than small details. Although my test might not have been 100% on, it did hit a lot of spots and I do agree that it gives a general idea of the management styles people possess.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, fellow ID! I knew from the way you behave in class that you would have a D in there somewhere =] I'm glad that I read your post because I can relate to a lot of it. Especially when you mentioned your impatience when you know you have to do something NOW. Sometimes difficult for people who aren't like us to comprehend...but it's okay, I understand fully, sir!
